Morphine Syrettes box
€15

This is a reproduction of the hard-to-find box containing five morphine syrettes that were part of many medical field kits.
The box comes completely assembled with the interieur divider and a self-adhesive Narcotic Tax label is included with each box. (There are no syrettes included.)
The label is the version with the extra text stating that it is made for the U.S. Army Medical Department.
Although several variations of construction of the box exists, I opted for the more complex construction with the lid hinged at the back.

Wound Tablets €5
In each soldiers first aid pouch is carried a small envelope made of laminated bituminous paper. In this envelope is a small plastic container with eight sulfadiazine tablets.
This reproduction is made of heavy laminated kraft paper that will hold up well when carried inside the first aid pouch next to the bandage package. The envelope is filled with a piece of plastic representing the shape of the original plastic container.
This envelope comes filled and glued, and is ready for use.

Safety Pin Cards (with pins) €5
In most medical kits there was one or more cards with safety pins included. For example, in the Privates Medical kit there were two of such cards (size 2) carried in one of the medical pouches. One card was included in most 12- or 24-unit vehicle First Aid kit*.
These pins came in two sizes: 2 (medium, stock no. 78780) or 3 (large, stock no. 78770)**.
These safety pins cards were taken from commercial stock and the number of safety pins on the card could vary from 9 to 12 pins, depending on the manufacturer.
The reproduction cards offered here come with the correct size of safety pin already in place. There are three manufacturers to chose from:
-
Atlas, size 2 and 3;
- Green Oak, size 2 and 3;
- American, size 2 and 3.
When ordering, please specify which brand and what size you want.
*If you need a card to complete a vehicle First Aid kit, check the size of the safety pin given on the label inside the lid. Early units didn't include safety pins and are therefor not in the list of contents.
**Safety pin size 2 is 1.5 inch (38mm) long and size 3 is 2 inch (51mm) long.

Adhesive Plaster €7,50
Carried in every medical kit was a metal spool with self-adhesive fabric tape. This tape was referred to as adhesive plaster* that is one inch wide and five yards long.
Early in the war spools were procured from commercial stock. When metal became conserved items the cover was replaced with a small cardboard box. The spools still have commercial labels. The fabric of the tape is white.
Only in late 1944 the spools were produced again with the metal cover but this time with an olive drab camouflage coating. The tape itself is now of "field brown" fabric.
These spools are reproduced using modern production tape with new labels placed over the modern printing with self adhesive stickers. The spools come with the labels in place in the boxes or cover.
There are three versions available:
- Johnson & Johnson (spool in box)
- Curity (spool in box)
- Bay's (spool with cover)
When ordering, please specify which brand you want.
*Curity was the only brand that called it "tape".

Protective Ointment box €5
This box held a tube with ointment to neutralize vesicant gasses or sprays that got in contact with the skin. It was carried inside the bag with the new lightweight gas mask. That is what the small compartment at the side is for.
The Navy S-461 ointment was part of the protective kit consisting of a gas mask, long wool gloves, protective parka and bib trousers. The ointment could be carried in one of the pockets of the protective clothing.
This sturdy box, made from corrugated B-flute cardboard, consists of an outer sleeve and two telescoping inserts. In addition there is a small collar that fits around the neck of the tube of ointment to prevent it from bouncing around.
There are three versions to choose from:
- Army - Protective Ointment M4 (serif)
- Army - Protective Ointment M4 (sans-serif)
- Navy - Protective Ointment S-461
When ordering, please specify which version you want.
(the flutes of the corrugated cardboard of the outer sleeve might run lengthwise or crosswise. Either are correct)
