Order through the contact form the type and amount of ration kits you're interested in. This way I can calculate the best shipping option.
Individual prices of the boxes are:
1st Half
€15
1st Half + Arsenal box with liner
€20
2nd Half €25
Main carton with sleeve €60
Main carton with sleeve strapped (with wooden frame inside) €75
When ordering, please specify which version main carton you want (Jewel Tea/Chicle/General Foods/Wrigley). Depending on the manufacturer the 1st and 2nd Half boxes will have the menu number printed or stamped, or specify when only ordering 1st or 2nd Half boxes.
Type 2 boxes can be easy identified by the large MENU plus their respective menu numbers. This is repeated on both ends of the sleeves. This was also added to the 1st and 2nd Half boxes.
Until 1944 the contents were of the first generation. From January 1944 on the contents are of the second generation.
The liner of the 1st Half is the later 1-piece solid cardboard version.
While Jewel Tea Co. and Wm Wrigley Co. had the menu number printed, the American Chicle Co. and General Foods Corp. rubber stamped the menu numbers on the boxes.
Some of the contractors have the month of production already printed on the main carton while others hand stamped this.
Shown above is a waxed Arsenal box with the one-piece liner.
The Jewel Tea Company pre-printed their boxes with the production dates and I have decided on a random month with each menu number. This date will also determine which generation the contents will be.
Menu #1 - June (2nd generation)
Menu #2 - April (2nd generation)
Menu #3 - January (1st generation)
Menu #4 - March (1st/2nd generation*)
Menu #5 - February (1st generation)
*The specifications of the second generation were issued on 6 March 1944 and production could already have started that month. So, both options are possible.
I decided to go with the quirky thin lettering of the word MENU on the face of the main carton. This was done the first three months of production by the American Chicle Co. and the General Foods Corp. The contents should be of the 1st generation only.
The Wm Wrigley Jr. Company pre-printed their boxes with the production dates and I have decided on a random month with each menu number. This date will also determine which generation the contents will be.
Menu #1 - February (1st generation)
Menu #2 - June (2nd generation)
Menu #3 - July (2nd generation)
Menu #4 - May (2nd generation)
Menu #5 - April (2nd generation)
